THE HEROIC
The Heroic is a small but powerful Santa Monica shop redefining what it is to create the hero sandwich and offering communal dinners in a wine laden garden of the gods.
The design often occurs by imposition, the reach of one object, one material into another dimension. The blood red light hangs from a heavy 3” tube steel, beginning in the upper deli dining, arching down to crown the server taking orders on the main floor. This visually unites an upper space that could easily be overlooked. It is a mighty reach and a binding tie.
This really is the story of the restaurant. It is of the hero, how frail we humans be but how powerful the power of the human spirit. Hero, or hero sandwich, how lucky we be that something so small can be so mighty.
